In München wurden die hässlichen alten Brandmauern, die den Innenhof des Fachbildungszentrums für Handwerksberufe begrenzen, mit bunten Scheinfassaden bemalt, die auch die Glasbausteinfenster mit einbeziehen. Das regennasse Fenster gibt dem ganzen dann noch einen surrealen Anstrich."

"Freilassing ist eine Reise wert. Besonders natürlich mit der Deutschen Bahn, ist es doch aus einem Knotenpunkt ihrer Vorläuferorganisation entstanden. Nebenbei: Böse Zungen behaupten, dass sich der Charme der Kleinstadt nie so richtig von seinen Wurzeln befreien konnte...
Am attraktivsten ist es natürlich, wenn der Fernzug (wieder mal) Verspätung hat, der Anschlußzug schon weg ist (natürlich), die Bahnhofsbuchhandlung bereits geschlossen hat und ein aufkommendes Gewitter den Aufenthalt draußen unangenehm werden lässt. Da fehlt dann nur noch tütengebundenes Transportgut um das Fotografieren zu behindern, und die Laune ist zumindest kurzzeitig im Keller. Trotzdem: I always take (pictures of) the weather...".
Normalerweise gehört zur Imagewerbung, gerade in Parfümerien, das schöne Wetter.
Und auch die Musik verwendet den Regen oft dazu, den Sonnenschein noch strahlender werden zu lassen.Aber wenn ich lange genug hinschaue, dann finde ich auch im Regenwetter in der Stadt so kleine Juwelen, die mich die Kamera unter der Regenjacke rausziehen lassen.Und: die Kamera* selbst ist auch ein Juwel - ohne Stabilisierung und hohe Empfindlichkeit wäre das Bild (450mm-e, ISO 1600) nicht zu machen gewesen. Was habe ich sowas zu Film-Zeiten vermisst!"

bin zur Zeit als Experte für eine NGO (Trinkwasserversorgung) in Colombo und weiter auf dem Weg an die Ostküste von Sri Lanka, und hab' aus dem Fenster fotografiert:
"These days Colombo is flooded with portraits of the old and new President, Mahinda Raja Rajapakse. Yesterday he had his 65th birthday with a big celebration, today are the inauguration ceremonies for his new term. The fact that he had to get the constitution changed for this and that his major opponent changed from a highly decorated army general to a criminal perpetrator who got convicted to many years in jail immediately after the victory of the government over the Tamil Liberation Forces does interest almost nobody here any more. The most important thing is the winning smile of the president (below), and the close neighborhood to commercial ads like in this image is no issue at all. There is not much hope that the people of Sri Lanka will soon see the effect of the proverbial light bulb regarding his president."

"In spite of the small number of peace signs I was able to spot in Munich, this is a really peaceful city if read take the official crime rate. And this year, I have even found a peace sign on the Octoberfest itself, used to advertise for time-travel "back into the 70ies" attraction. I doubt however that it will help against the rising number of beer hall brawls, where drunkards use steins as weapons against each other."

" Not sure if the T-shirt designer knew that this is the peace sign and no general sign for love. But then, in those times - now decades ago - love and peace was a popular slogan, so the mixture is most probably o.k.
Peace signs - being it on clothes or sticker or as graffiti tags - are quite rare in those southern parts of Germany that I know. The A for Anarchism you see in many places, in spite of the political irrelevance of all radical leftist movements in Germany."
