PEACE in the pole

© Tyler Monson

Tyler schreibt zu seinem Projektbeitrag:
"Credit to Gerald Holtom, who designed the nuclear disarmament symbol in 1958, which later was adopted as the peace symbol.
Still, I wonder about the person who drew this symbol, cut it out by hand, and stapled it to the pole; is it for peace, or for nuclear disarmament? Or does that person even know? Always questions. Never answers.
Keep on walking."

Peace in Brattleboro

© für beide Fotos: Carl Weese

Carl schreibt zu seinem Projektbeitrag:

"Brattleboro is a very interesting city in The People's Republic of Vermont. Stopping for lunch at a place that simply bills "great Felafel" (and they were great) we walked around a bit after lunch and, despite all the WiFi access nodes and other signs of modernity, it felt a lot like being dropped back into the sixties. This Tee shirt was found at Sam's Outdoor Outfitters. It was also possible, there, to get a plain baseball cap without some sort of team or corporate logo on it, which is a feat not easily achieved in most of America.
The blue teeshirt at the left of the picture shows the front end of an 18-wheeler, as though looming at you, with the legend, "think fast, hippie." I found that so interesting that I almost missed the peace purse."

PEACE Pizza

Carl schreibt zu seinem Projektbeitrag:
"This was on a sidewalk table in front of a bakery and pizza place during a parade for the town's 250th anniversary celebration. This is the same place as the mannequin shot posted July 12."

Another PEACE symbol

© Tyler Monson

Tyler schreibt zu seinem Projektbeitrag:
"I finally found a peace symbol to photograph for your collection. Not surprisingly, perhaps, I had to go to San Francisco to find one."
